Annual Meeting

Time and Place of Meeting
The meeting was called to order by President John Bernache at 7:05 PM on Thursday, February 11, at Tailwheels Etc., 3000 21st St. NW,  Winter Haven, Florida.

Attendance
Three members of The Board of Directors were present:
President John Bernache, Secretary Beverly Lerner, and board member, Mickey Matison.
Treasurer Bill Maynard and board member Kelley Clark were not in attendance.
Twenty-three other members of the association were in attendance.

Minutes of the previous Annual Meeting
Minutes of the annual meeting of February 11, 2009 were read. A motion to accept them was made by Palmer Gehring and seconded by Mardi Charchian. Approval was unanimous.

Report of the Treasurer
President Bernache read the treasurer’s report as prepared by Treasurer Bill Maynard. He reported that the checking account balance as of February 11, 2010 is $27,703.66 and the CD balance is $10,431.98. Other assets total $1,434.31. Total balance is $39,569.95.
All bills have been paid to date. A copy of the report is attached to these minutes.
The proposed 2010 budget was distributed to the membership. A motion was made by Beverly Lerner and seconded by Earle Richardson to approve the budget. Vote: 25 in favor; 1 opposed. Motion carried.  The 2010 budget is attached to these minutes. 

Secretary’s Report
A summary of issues and decisions by the Eagles Landing Home Owners Board from February, 2009 to February 3, 2010 was read and is attached to these minutes.

Nominations for the  Board
Three Members of the Board of Directors, Beverly Lerner, John Bernache, and Bill Maynard  are completing their terms with this meeting. The Board announced the nomination of Mardi Charchian, Faye Gehring, and Bill Maynard as candidates for election to the Board of Directors for the 2010-2012 term.
There were no additional nominations from the floor. Mardi Charchian, Faye Gehring and Bill Maynard were elected by unanimous vote.

President’s Report

  1. President John Bernache thanked Earle Richardson for creating and supplying the home owners directory and maintaining the ELHOA website.
  2. Thanked all committees and members: Grounds committee, Dick Creswell and Bill Berry; Pool Committee, Faye Gehring and Mickey Matison. He also acknowledged Faye Gehring’s efforts in negotiating a price and securing a paving company to resurface Aviation Drive and Pilot Place.
  3. Wiring of the lights in the park was replaced with new wiring in PVC conduit. Two new sensors were installed, one for the park lights and flag pole light, and a second for the new outlet installed on the bridge.
  4. Stones on the bridge that were broken off by vandals were replaced.
  5. The wall along Jessie Road was painted and repaired with new stucco. Cost: $4,000
  6. The sprinkler system is checked monthly by an independent contractor. He checks for broken or plugged heads and damaged pipes and replaces them as needed.
  7. President Bernache recommended that the wall around the well-pump on Pilot Place be painted and new bushes planted.
  8. There have been unconfirmed reports of unauthorized use of the pool after dark. President Bernache suggested installing 2 motion sensor lights on the pool house that can also be turned on manually for authorized night time use.
  9. The repaving of the streets will be done the week of February 14, weather permitting.

Annual banquet at Tanner’s Pub next Thursday. Ladies Luncheon on Tuesday, February 23rd.
